Performs collection functions for First Physician Group. Reviews charges and verifies appropriate usage of modifiers, CPT-4, ICD-9 and ICD-10 code ensure appropriate reimbursement. Analyzes and corrects claims to ensure accurate and timely claims submission. Sets up account for Client Services and collects past due balances. Responsible for resubmission of claims for additional reimbursement and/or appealing said claims with timely follow up. Responsible for calculating and posting contractual allowances accurately and timely keeping the AR to a minimum. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail. Researches and answers customer’s questions regarding billing disputes. Interacts with FPG Physicians, Office Managers, CBO staff, and other appropriate SMH staff to review coding and billing issues. Responsible for keeping abreast of and complying with all third party regulations. Responsible for ensuring all fee schedules are kept current and MMS updated. Handles all correspondence and all communications in a timely manner. Job knowledge is section specific. Ability to demonstrate Customer Service Recovery, be flexible and adapt to changes in growth within the CBO Department.

First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System is seeking to employ two Physician Assistants (PA-C) to join their Trauma team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on the night shift (6:00 P.M. – 6:00 A.M.). The Trauma team includes nine (9) Trauma Surgeons and 19 Advanced Practice Providers to cover an ADC of 40-60 patients with seasonal fluctuations.

Today, we are a full-service public health system, with two hospitals and a Cancer Institute offering specialized expertise in heart, vascular, cancer, orthopedic and neuroscience services, and a network of outpatient centers, urgent care centers, laboratories, diagnostic imaging and physician practices, skilled nursing and rehabilitation among our many programs. We are a Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Responsibilities include:
- 13 shifts a month working 6:00 P.M. – 6:00 A.M. Must be flexible and willing to work occasional weekends and holidays.
- Trauma response in the Emergency Department, rounding in Surgical Trauma ICU and hospital floors.
- PA-C will see patients in the general surgery and trauma acute care outpatient clinic and provide Surgical First Assist in the operating room for both elective, acute care, and traumatic surgical cases.
- Ability to perform procedures including, but not limited to, placement and removal of chest tubes, arterial lines, and central venous catheters.
