This leader has comprehensive operational accountability and oversight of multiple physician practices within a designated division (primary care, medical specialty, surgical specialty). Manages the day-to-day operations to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality patient care, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring compliance with health care regulations. Works closely with physicians, practice managers, clinical staff and administrative teams to enhance operational performance, improve patient satisfaction and meet financial and organizational goals. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring successful completion of individual and teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities in support of departmental and organizational goals.
- Require bachelor's degree in health care, business, finance or related field. Relevant work experience in health care or business administration in a leadership role may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
- Require a minimum of seven (7) years of medical practice management experience of 10 or more providers or multiple sites, including management responsibility for all operational areas including finance; or five (5) years of health care management experience in a hospital-based setting of 5 or more providers.
- Prefer American College of Medical Practice Executives certification (ACMPE) or Certified Physician Practice Manager Certification (CPPM).
- Prefer strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, resource allocation, and performance analysis.
- Prefer experience in human resources and compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, foster a collaborative environment, and drive performance and efficiency improvements.
- Prefer excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to solution.
- Prefer knowledge of third-party payors.
- Prefer proficiency in computer software programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, practice management software, Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Outlook.
- Prefer proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and overseeing operational, financial, and clinical functions within a healthcare setting.
