The Certified Surgical Technologist III (CST III) functions in an advanced scrub role for operative procedures either as a CST - First Assist, or as a specialty specific CST, while serving as a resource person for the patient population. In addition, the CST III plans and executes complex daily activities including the ability to prioritize, impact the '30-minute' guarantee for inpatients and '25-minute' guarantee for outpatients in turnovers (patient out to in), has a working knowledge of advanced technology (i.e. navigation, daVinci), and assists in reducing cost per case (i.e. impact preference card accuracy, choice or supplies, suture, etc.), as well as, serving as a preceptor.
- Require one (1) year of Certified Surgical Technologist operating room experience, with a minimum of six (6) months at the CST II level.
- Require proficiency in one (1) or more specialty area/service lines with knowledge in one (1) or more additional specialty area/service lines.
- Prefer broad knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Prefer working knowledge of computers.
