This is a clinical position that performs routine care responsibilities and procedures in the office or hospital setting, as prescribed by the physician. Administers orthotic braces, devices and applies or removes casting to patients with relativity stable conditions. Educates, motivates, and assists patients in learning and improving functional activities, instructs patient and family members on the proper use of devices. Assists and facilitates patients with utilizing the resources of their community and family. Reports changes in the client’s condition, prepares clinical notes and progress reports, documenting treatments performed, and submits them for review.
- Require current licensure as a Registered Orthopedic Technologist, LPN, or RN in the state of Florida.
- Require one (1) year of clinical experience in applying, adjusting and removing casts.
- Prefer previous experience with wound care, wound vacuum, dressing changes in a hospital, clinic or office practice.
- Prefer previous EHR experience.
- Prefer prior orthopedic, general surgery and/or trauma experience.
- Prefer demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Prefer demonstrated initiative and self-direction.
- Prefer demonstrated professional and caring attitude to patients, co-workers, and all customers of the organization.
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
