This leader has operational accountability and oversight and manages the daily activities of the Billing and Accounts Receivables department for First Physicians Group (FPG). This leader is also responsible for ensuring the billing system functions optimally with all required federal, state or payer specific billing edits in place. In this role, the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while ensuring teamwork tasks, projects, and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of organizational and departmental goals.
- Require a Bachelor's degree in related field. Four (4) years of relevant work experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
- Require seven (7) to ten (10) years of healthcare billing and collection experience with at least five (5) years of experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing.
- Prefer Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
- Prefer demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills at all levels.
- Prefer Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) certification.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of Medicare Nation Coverage Determination (NCD) and Local Coverage Determination (LCD) protocols for medical necessity/Advanced Beneficiary Notice.
- Prefer strong knowledge of insurance rules and regulations including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial Insurance.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of diagnosis and procedural coding.
- Prefer demonstrated leadership skills and understanding of group processes, teamwork and site/cost-center based management.
- Prefer demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze problems and consistently follow through to solution.
