The PA III typically work in a multidisciplinary setting including first assist, procedures (chest tube, line placement, etc), multiple inpatient units managing patient care which includes critical care, trauma, and surgery. A PA is a graduate with a master’s degree or certificate from an accredited physician assistant program at an accredited school or college. The PA functions as part of the multidisciplinary health team in accordance with privileges approved by the credentialing committee to provide high-quality, cost-effective advanced care to patients. The PA is licensed by the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine to perform medical services delegated by the supervising physician(s).'
First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System is seeking to employ two Physician Assistants (PA-C) to join their Trauma team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital on the night shift (6:00 P.M. – 6:00 A.M.). The Trauma team includes nine (9) Trauma Surgeons and 19 Advanced Practice Providers to cover an ADC of 40-60 patients with seasonal fluctuations.

-NCCPA Certified with a license to practice in Florida.
-ACLS/BLS required. ATLS is preferred and can be obtained at Sarasota Memorial Hospital if not currently certified.
-Trauma experience required. ICU experience is preferred.
